He's been loved by many and loathed by others, but David Beckham deserves plenty of credit as he prepares to win his record equalling 108th England cap.
His powers perhaps may be on the wane, but given his form at AC Milan, he's probably the form midfielder in the England team right now. Lampard just isn't cutting it at Chelsea this term, while Gareth Barry has been quietly efficient for Villa. But Beckham's rejuvenation at the San Siro proves to me that he more than deserves his latest call-up - and the fact that it equals the great Bobby Moore makes it all the more sweeter.
To be fair to Beckham, many thought his move to LA Galaxy spelt the end of his career, both on a domestic level and on the international front. But he has really knuckled down of late, and if you believe the reports, he's fitter than he's ever been at any point in his career.
With that in mind, Beckham looks a sure-fire starter in his accustomed right-wing role, and who knows, maybe he could inspire England to a result against FIFA's number one side, Spain.
But whatever the result in Seville on Wednesday, Beckham deserves all the credit coming his way. 108 caps for his country over a 13-year international career is impressive to say the least - and who's to say he cannot go on to beat Peter Shilton's all-time 125 cap record.

Although he came on in the second half, he definitely looked one of the brighter lights in the team. I know we had a few players out and that would have affected tactics but we're weren't in the same league on Wednesday night. Spain looked awesome and I couldn't see where we would score. Lots of work in progress.
