Slovakia vs Northern Ireland
Shooter : Slovakia are no mugs these days and have a few Premier League players in their ranks in Liverpool's Martin Skrtel and Albion's Marek Cech. They also have Filip Sebo up front so pose a threat. NI are not great travellers and are much stronger at home, so I'm going for a 1-1 draw.
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : Northern Ireland will go into this qualifying campaign with high hopes of going one better than last time where they only just missed out on Euro 2008. However, they'll need to improve on their away form which yielded just one victory on the road during the Euro qualifiers. Slovakia did lose 4-1 at home to a poor Wales side during Euro qualifiers, so that might be the best clue as to this result. 1-2
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Wales vs Azerbaijan
Shooter : Azerbaijan now have a well-known manager in charge in Berti Vogts, but have never actually qualified for a major tournament and don't possess any star players. Wales boss Tosh is a muppet of the highest order but surely even he can't mess this one up (a recent 2-1 defeat by Georgia suggests it won't be a stroll for the Dragons). 2-0
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : Azerbaijan had a pretty woeful record in the last round of qualifiers (winning just one of 12 games) and Wales will hope to cash in on that in Saturday's clash. But John Toshack's side face something of a striker shortage with Craig Bellamy out. I expect them to play a 4-5-1 with Earnshaw as a lone frontman but they should just about edge to victory. 2-1
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Andorra vs England
Shooter : Andorra have only been on the international circuit for 10 years so are still an unknown quantity - but they're dirty as hell and like to put the boot in so it'll be a battle. Capello's England have yet to fire but calling up Bullard could be a masterstroke as he has the smallest ego in football so will relish the challenge. I reckon 0-3.
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Away Win
Looter : Fabio Capello's men have the easiest away match to start their road to South Africa 2010 and nothing less than three points and a comfortable win will be acceptable. England were 3-0 winners here last time out, though their first-half display drew a chorus of boos from England's travelling support before Gerrard bailed them out. They won't have him this time, but still should have enough about them to record a repeat. 0-3
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Away Win
Georgia vs Rep of Ireland
Shooter : Blackburn's Zurab Khizanishvili is Georgia's biggest-name current player but they're a pretty slick outfit these days and took the scalp of Wales recently, winning 2-1. The Republic are rock-solid under Trapattoni but tend to be drawing rather than winning games under him, so I'm going for a 2-2 draw.
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Away Win
Looter : The first thing to note is that this is played in Germany due to the instability in Georgia right now, so the Republic already have an advantage. However, the goals have been in short supply for main man Robbie Keane this season and with Damien Duff also missing out, I don't expect many - if any - goals here in a drab 0-0, or 1-1 stalemate.
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Away Win
Macedonia vs Scotland
Shooter : It's a cliche but there are no easy games in international football anymore, and with Burley yet to win a game as Scotland boss this is a tough assignment. Macedonia warmed up for this with a 4-1 drubbing of Luxembourg, and Goran Pandev is the man to beware. I've got a feeling it's going to shocking start for the Scots. 2-1
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : The Scottish won an impressive - by their standards at least - three out of six games on the road to Euro 2008 qualification and will hope to get their campaign off to a successful start here. Macedonia beat Croatia during the last round of qualifiers, but more tellingly, lost 0-1 to England and I think Scotland, with Garry O'Connor and Kenny Miller in good form, can nick a win here too. 0-1
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Austria vs France
Shooter : By no means will this be a formality. France have not performed under Domenech for some time now and were alarmingly poor at Euro 2008. Like England, their team on paper looks mouthwatering but never seems to click. Austria are pretty strong these days, with most of their players plying their trade in the major leagues across Europe. But I think Les Bleus will squeeze out a narrow win. 0-1
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : The Austrians are under new management with former Czech boss Karel Bruckner now in charge. Being hosts at Euro 2008, the Austrians did not have to qualify but they have been patchy - at best - on their home turf for years, with a 2-2 draw against England in the run up to the 2006 World Cup, their best result of the last few years. France are rebuilding and have plenty of young talent coming through, but I expect them to do a professional job and come away with a narrow 2-1 victory.
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Norway vs Iceland
Shooter : There'll be plenty of familiar faces on show here, with Messrs Hangeland, Riise, Gamst Pedersen, Carew and Nevland in a strong Norway line-up, and the likes of Gudjohnsen, Hreidarsson and Helguson in Iceland's team. Iceland have been the poorer team in recent qualification campaigns so I reckon 2-0.
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Draw
Looter : The Norwegians were pretty efficient at disposing of the likes of Hungary, Malta and Moldova in qualifying for Euro 2008 and tend to enjoy themselves against some of the lesser European nations at home. Iceland on the other hand still rely on top man Eidur Gudjohnsen, but he's short of games and probably confidence over the past 12 months and have never been the best of travellers. 3-1
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Draw
Leeds United vs Crewe
Shooter : Crewe looked pretty sharp in beating Macc 3-0 in midweek, but in the league they've lost 3 of 4 games so far. They're strong at home but lousy on the road, and should be overwhelmed by a Leeds side buzzing from beating Bradford in the trophy on Tuesday night. 2-0
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : The Whites are a staggering four League One games without a victory, despite racking up three straight wins in the cups, and will know they have no choice but to pick up all three points here. Crewe pinched a 1-1 draw at Elland Road last term, but that goal came through Nicky Maynard, who has since been sold, so I expect Leeds to edge to a nervy 1-0 win.
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Carlisle vs Southend
Shooter : Carlisle are many people's tips for auto promotion and have flown out of the traps, scoring four in their two home games (both wins) so far. Southend, meanwhile, can't keep them out and have conceded 9 in their last 2 games. More misery for the Shrimpers I'm afraid. 3-1
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : The Shimpers have added Dougie Freedman to their squad this week and he's sure to make his debut on a ground that held happy memories for him whilst on loan with Leeds last season. But the Cumbrians are different class on their home turf and came back from a goal down to thrash Leyton Orient here last week. I think it might be close, but I can only forsee a home success. 2-1
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Millwall vs Hartlepool
Shooter : Both these teams tumbled to trophy defeats in midweek so will be licking their wounds - but Hartlepool have showed in wins over West Brom, Scunny and Posh that they're a dangerous animal. The Lions can be tamed at home but also have some bite, so I reckon it'll be 2-2.
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : The Lions finally collected their first win of the season last week against Huddersfield and will be hopeful of collecting a repeat success. But Pools have plenty of dangermen up front in James Brown and Joel Porter and can comfortable claim a point from their trip to the Capital. 2-2
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Home Win
