Aston Villa vs Bolton
Shooter : Bolton's mini-renaissance came to an end against Chelsea at The Reebok - but it appears Megson's men prefer playing away from home (a bit like Ashley Cole) so they'll arrive at Villa Park in good spirits after 4 wins on the road already. Villa have also won more away than at home, including the stunning last-gasp win at Goodison, and have drawn 4 of 8 so far so I'm going for a 2-2 draw.
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : Two in-form teams clash at Villa Park, but it's hard to look beyond Villa after their exciting win at Everton last week. The Trotters are doing well this term, but tend to fall flat against the bigger guns so I'll opt for a hard-fought home win for the hosts. 1-0
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Home Win
Man City vs Everton
Shooter : Man City, and Mark Hughes in particular, are in desperate need of a win and three points to pull away from danger - and it looks like Robinho might be fit to start. Everton were mugged by Villa late doors at Goodison, and their squad - and frontline - is ravaged by injury, so I reckon it'll be a comfortable home win. 2-0
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Away Win
Looter : City are fast becoming the league's most inconsistent team this term, with four wins and four defeats on their own turf. Everton will probably opt for a defensive formation forced upon them by a lack of strike options, but I can see City perhaps poking home a scruffy late winner. 1-0
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Away Win
Stoke City vs Fulham
Shooter : Fulham have yet to win on their travels, but have tightened up considerably at the back and will be happy to pocket a point here. Stoke's home form is the key to their survival hopes and is pretty good (5 wins in 8 so far) - but I think they'll be frustrated in a dire battle. 0-0 or 1-1
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Draw
Looter : Successive goalless draws at Liverpool and Villa suggest Fulham are finding the formula to pick up results, of a kind, on their travels. They'll look for a repeat at Stoke and in Brede Hangeland have a defender who can deal with the aerial assaults. Stoke are strong at home but I have a sneaky suspicion the Cottagers might nick it. 0-1
Prediction : Away Win Actual Result : Draw
Sunderland vs West Brom
Shooter : This is a simply epic relegation battle between the managerless Black Cats and Mowbray's rockbottom Baggies. The hosts have lost 5 of 8 on home soil and their confidence is on the floor as they nervously wait for a new boss. Albion will have more togetherness and picked up a point against Pompey - but their main threat Ishmael Miller is out for the rest of the season, so I think they'll struggle for goals. 1-1
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : It's a huge game for both sides and one neither would dare to lose. But don't expect that to make it a tight affair with both sides shipping goals at alarming rate. Ishmael Miller is a big miss for West Brom, so I'm unable to look beyond a home win here. 2-0
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Home Win
Tottenham vs Man Utd
Shooter : On paper this is mouthwatering and easily the game of the weekend as Harry and Sir Alex lock horns. Spurs come into this on the back of a cracking win at West Ham, while United simply haven't clicked into gear and only just beat Sunderland at OT. I've got a feeling the hosts will play out of their skin and get a shock home win. 2-1
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Draw
Looter : Remarkably, a home win here could take Tottenham into the top half of the table but it looks a very tall order against a Man United side who have a real liking for playing at White Hart Lane. The Red Devils have won six out of their last seven visits to Spurs - expect that to become seven wins in eight. 1-2
Prediction : Away Win Actual Result : Draw
Wigan Ath vs Blackburn
Shooter : If you believe the tabloids and message boards, Ince is strolling into the last-chance saloon at The JJB, where his old mate Bruce could cause his dismissal if Latics pinch the points. Rovers are the worst form-team of the division, while Latics are always a handful with Heskey up front and pushed Arsenal pretty close. 3-1 for me.
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : It's almost a year since the same teams squared up in a 5-3 home win as Latics recorded their first EVER success against Blackburn. There's clearly some discontent in the Rovers camp this year, despite claims to the contrary and I just think their fans will have further cause for disappointment after this one with Heskey the matchwinner for the hosts. 1-0
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Home Win
Chelsea vs West Ham
Shooter : Stamford Bridge is no longer the fortress it was under Mourinho and Ranieri, but the Blues' staggering away form (8 wins in 8) has kept them right in the title mix. It's a London derby and former Hammers Cole and Lampard will be busting a gut to score. Zola's Irons lost to Spurs on Monday - and it'll be more derby misery for him as Drogba is back for the hosts and straining at the leash. 3-0
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Draw
Looter : Nervy times indeed for Hammers fans and if results go against them as tipped, I expect to see them out of the drop zone come the end of the weekend on goal difference only. They'll hope to catch Chelsea on an off-day, and while it's not a bad time to play Big Phil's men, I still think they'll ease to a win. 3-0
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Draw
Portsmouth vs Newcastle
Shooter : Newcastle will head to Fratton Park with a patched-up midfield ravaged by injury and still smarting at choking against Stoke after being 2-0 up. Crouch and Defoe are both in decent nick for Pompey, who will be hunting all three points against a Magpies side yet to win on the road this season (4 draws, 4 defeats). 3-1 for me.
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Away Win
Looter : The Magpies are on a run of four draws in a row and look a good bet here to make that five. Joe Kinnear's appointment gives stability, but with him criticising refs like it's going out of fashion, there's still that undercurrent of hysteria when it comes to relegation fears on Tyneside. Still, a useful point here against a Pompey side looking nervously to the January transfer window will be seen as a point gained. 1-1 or 2-2
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Away Win
Liverpool vs Hull City
Shooter : Surprise package Hull have now proved their early-season heroics were no fluke and they'll arrive at Anfield buzzing after beating Boro with a fine fightback last time out. The Tigers pose a goal threat wherever they play, while Rafa's Reds are always slightly defensive-minded at home, so it could be a 1-1 draw.
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Draw
Looter : A very interesting match-up at Anfield could spring one of the surprise results of the weekend. Robbie Keane, whilst not scoring, finally looked like the £20million striker he is in the midweek win over PSV. They'll be looking to him again against Hull, but these games can throw up nasty surprises and I think the Tigers can come away from Anfield - like Fulham and West Ham before them - with a point. 1-1
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Draw
Swansea vs Sheff Utd
Shooter : Both of these teams have play-off aspirations, with the Blades better placed and the Swans having made the step up with ease to lie mid-table. United won 1-0 at Forest in midweek, while Swansea snatched a late draw with Barnsley - but I reckon Martinez's men will inflict a fifth away defeat on Blackwell's visitors. 2-1
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Draw
Looter : I really fancied Swansea to seal a play-off spot this season after they coasted to League 1 success last term, but too many home draws are holding up their charge. Their last two games at The Liberty saw both Cardiff and then Barnsley earn points and I think there'll be a third stalemate in a row for the Swans against Kevin Blackwell's Blades. 1-1
