Man Utd vs Chelsea
Shooter : It's a Clash of the Titans at Old Trafford and I can honestly only see one winner here. Chelsea are struggling for form, goals and confidence at the moment - while United will see this is a massive chance to close the gap on Big Phil's Blues. Sir Alex's troops are in top gear in the FA Cup, Carling Cup and Prem - and I reckon they'll collect a 2-1 win.
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : It's a game neither side dare lose and with the vultures starting to hover over Luis Felipe Scolari, there's probably more at stake for the Brazilian. But Chelsea have a good record both away from home this term and at Old Trafford in general so I think this will finish 1-1, just as it did at the Bridge earlier this season.
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Home Win
Wigan Ath vs Tottenham
Shooter : Steve Bruce's Latics are up in the heady heights of 7th heading into this game, while Spurs - admittedly buoyed by the arrival of Defoe and Carling Cup battering of Burnley - are down in 16th. That's mainly down to Tottenham's torrid away form (6 defeats in 10) and they even lost at rockbottom Albion last time out. The hosts are a handful at the cabbage patch JJB, so I'm going for a 2-2 draw.
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : Just a week after the sides clashed in the cup, they do it all again for Premier League points. There's often plenty of goals between these sides, and with Jermain Defoe a likely debutant, I think he can fire Spurs to an away-day triumph. 1-2
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Everton vs Hull City
Shooter : David Moyes has to be applauded for producing the results for Everton despite their injury nightmare, and they've got some real momentum going ahead of facing the Tigers. Hull, meanwhile, drew a blank in the FA Cup and were gubbed 5-1 on the road last time out. 3-0 for me
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : The Toffees are currently five matches unbeaten and appear to have found the key to keeping clean sheets with no goals conceded in over 450 minutes of football. Hull are sinking faster than a stone, so a home win here is a no-brainer. 2-0
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Fulham vs Blackburn
Shooter : Fulham's fine league placing is mainly down to solid home form and becoming the Prem's draw specialists (8 in 19 games). This would've been a home banker had Rovers been under Ince, but Big Sam has brought organisation and confidence to their ranks, so I reckon he'll continue his unbeaten start to his reign. 1-1
Prediction : Draw
Looter : Big Sam's troops are unbeaten under his charge and it will take another determined display to keep that going at Craven Cottage. Fulham are probably the Prem's most-improved side this term, but I think their progress might be stalled in an entertaining 2-2 draw in this one.
Prediction : Draw
Middlesbro' vs Sunderland
Shooter : Boro have almost been too busy trying to keep Downing from Tottenham's clutches to even think about this derby, and I've got a feeling there'll be more unrest at The Riverside at the final whistle. Boro are really struggling for Prem goals, while the Cats are quite handy on the road as the pace of Cisse & Jones causes all sorts of problems on the counter-attack. I'm going for 1-3
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Draw
Looter : It's turning into a tough old season for Boro but a home game against Sunderland is a great opportunity to arrest the gloom. Sunderland are exciting up front on their day and could shoot down Boro if the mood takes them, and I think they should have enough to claim an away-day success. 0-1
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Draw
Newcastle vs West Ham
Shooter : It appears many of Zola's star players are under the Hammer this month, with Parker, Upson and Bellamy all being linked with January sales. It doesn't seem to be affecting them, though, as they've won three on the trot, scoring 9 goals in the process. The Toon were torn apart by Liverpool in their last home game, and won't have taken much solace from a scrappy cup draw with Hull. I reckon 1-3.
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Draw
Looter : Neither of these teams has found any consistency this term and the one thing you can probably expect in this one is lots of goals. The possible return to Tyneside of Scott Parker and Kieron Dyer should add more spice but I think Newcastle could just edge their way to a win. 2-1
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Draw
Portsmouth vs Man City
Shooter : Before the season many would've seen this as a battle of Euro challengers - instead it's a Tale of Two Teams in Turmoil. Pompey have sold top men Diarra and Defoe, while there's talk of mutiny at City - given further credence by a shocking display in the FA Cup defeat by Nottingham Forest at Eastlands. City have more goal-scoring threat but I'm going to plump for a 1-1 draw.
Prediction : Draw
Looter : It's going to be a tough old month for Portsmouth after the heart was ripped out of their team and I can foresee more problems despite the visit of inconsistent City. The loss of Defoe will really hit them hard and although Crouch might find the net, I can see City bagging a crucial away win. 1-2
Prediction : Away Win
Stoke City vs Liverpool
Shooter : The Potters are sliding down the table faster than a hooker's pair of panties, and I can't see the slump ending here. Rafa's Reds seem to be relishing their title tilt, and they've got Torres fit again, which is helpful as he's a bit tasty. They mauled the Magpies and overpowered Preston in their last 2 games, and should have way too much for class for choking Stoke. 0-3
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Draw
Looter : Liverpool are an impressive 11 matches unbeaten but there'll probably be no harder game they will have encountered on that run. The Potters' main problem looks like a lack of goals and options up front and, given recent results, this could be their most important game of the season. I don't think the Reds will lose, but I'm going to back Stoke for a shock point. 1-1
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Draw
Plymouth Argyle vs Crystal Palace
Shooter : Argyle pushed Arsenal harder in the FA Cup than the 3-1 scoreline suggests, and are strong at home in the Champ this season (5wins, 3draws in 13 games). Palace head to Home Park looking to break into the play-off places, but I think they'll come away with a point. 1-1
Prediction : Draw
Looter : Both sides have yet to hit top form this season and Argyle have lost as many at home (five) as they have won. Palace's away form reads four wins, three draws and six defeats, so there's little to choose between the sides, which is why a draw might be the best bet here. 0-0
Prediction : Draw
Burnley vs Swansea
Shooter : Confidence is a brittle thing in football, and Burnley's will have been drained by the second-half mauling by Spurs at White Hart Lane. Coyle, however, has proved himself an astute motivator this season, and with the attacking quality of Eagles, Blake and Paterson to call upon, I think he'll demand a response and get one. It'll be close as the Swans are a tight unit on the road (3wins & 6draws in 13 away) but I'm going for a 2-1 home win.
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Away Win
Looter : The Swans have been involved in an unbelievable (Jeff!) eight successive draws and it's obvious that record won't last forever. Burnley have been distracted by the Carling Cup of late and their league form has suffered as a result. But a 4-1 defeat at Spurs has probably killed their Wembley dream and Owen Coyle will insist they get back to basics at home to Swansea. Only one result for me here, home win. 2-1
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Away Win
