Blackburn vs Aston Villa
Shooter : Rovers are still unbeaten under Big Sam in the league but they struggle to get that winning feeling so are still looking over their shoulders. Villa are red-hot away from home and Friedel will be desperate to keep a clean sheet on his return to Ewood - but the visitors might be a bit leggy after the midweek cup game with Donny so I'm going for 1-1.
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Away Win
Looter : Villa have the best away record in the top flight these days after racking up an impressive six straight wins on their travels. They’ll find it tough to keep that run going against a Blackburn side, who remain unbeaten in six games under Sam Allardyce’s charge. And with Roque Santa Cruz’s future now settled at Blackburn until the summer at least, I think they can preserve their run for a little while longer. This one smacks of a score draw for me, so I’ll say 1-1 or 2-2.
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Away Win
Everton vs Bolton
Shooter : It'll be nice for Everton to play someone different to Liverpool after their 3rd recent clash with their neighbours in midweek - and I think they'll have too much for the Trotters, who have lost 7/12 on the road. The hosts will have Jo up front looking to prove Man City wrong for letting him leave Eastlands on loan. 2-1 for me.
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : David Moyes’ side were a whisker from beating Arsenal at home last time out in the Prem, so I expect them to have a little too much for Bolton. That said, the Trotters look to have turned a slight corner following a recent slump so I think they will make it tight. Jo looks a possible debutant for the Toffees in this fixture, especially after they were taken all the way against Liverpool in midweek, and I expect him to have an immediate impact if he passes a fitness test. 1-0
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Portsmouth vs Liverpool
Shooter : Tony Adams reportedly has 3 games to save his job but I can't see his freefalling troops getting anything from this. The Reds might actually be able to focus on the pitch now the window has shut and Keane has left Anfield. Pompey simply aren't scoring goals so I'm going for a comfortable 0-2 win to Rafa's Reds.
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Away Win
Looter : Both these sides need the points for very different reasons and with the Reds seeing their title challenge turn sour in recent weeks, they know they can ill-afford any more dropped points. However, Pompey are missing a number of key performers in midfield and look set to field one or two debutants in this clash. For that reason, I’m not sure the Reds will not let them settle and I think they can stroll to a comfortable away win. 0-2
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Away Win
Sunderland vs Stoke City
Shooter : Black Cats strikers Cisse and Jones were rested in the midweek cup game, presumably with this match in mind. They'll go for Stoke's throat from the off, and although the Potters beat Man City at the Brit, they've got the worst away record in the league. 2-1 for me.
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : The Potters have taken just three points all season on their travels and would view a draw as a bonus from their trip to Sunderland. The key to success here is keeping Cisse and Jones quiet – but I think it is Kieran Richardson who could cause the damage as Stoke look weak in the full-back areas. Sunderland aren’t great – but know three points is a must here and I don’t think they’ll disappoint. 2-0
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
West Brom vs Newcastle
Shooter : The Baggies have fond memories of playing North-East teams on home soil after battering Boro 3-0 - and the Magpies arrive in similar turmoil with injury ravaging their squad. The Toon are dire on the road, while Albion are strong at home so I'm going for a 3-1 win.
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Away Win
Looter : It’s another of those matches that neither side dare not lose. Although Newcastle have added some much-needed bite to their midfield with the arrival of Kevin Nolan, I just don’t think they are going to win many football matches with a strike force of Andy Carroll and Shola Ameobi. West Brom have improved lately and seem to relish their Prem games at The Hawthorns. Goals look likely too, so I’ll opt for the hosts to claim a priceless 3-1 victory.
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Away Win
Wigan Ath vs Fulham
Shooter : You can't knock Fulham, they've got a plan and it's working - which is don't risk anything on the road and win at home. They're in 9th place but have yet to win away, and will arrive at The JJB with a rock-solid defensive set-up. Latics tend to shine when teams are a bit more adventurous so I'm going for 0-0 or 1-1.
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Draw
Looter : There’s very little separating these two sides this term and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them both nestled nicely alongside each other in mid-table come the end of the campaign. However, Fulham have yet to taste victory on their travels this term, and although they have learnt the art of keeping a clean sheet on their travels, they have only managed a staggering three goals, so if they go behind, expect them beaten. Wigan’s home form, by contast, is pretty good, so I'll back Latics to edge a 1-0 success.
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Draw
Tottenham vs Arsenal
Shooter : It was a busy month for Redknapp in the January sales but he did some very good business, with the captures of Palacios and Keane really catching the eye. The Gunners finally nabbed Arshavin but I don't think he'll be fit enough to start, so I'm going to go for a shock home win, with new skipper Keane leading the way. 2-1
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Draw
Looter : There are so many reasons to look forward to this game, and it’s probably the toughest of this weekend’s fixtures to predict. Robbie Keane and Andrei Arshavin are both possible debutants, with the former a more likely starter. Tottenham are without a league win against the Gunners since 1999 but I don’t think they will ever get a better chance. I’m going to stick my neck out and suggest they might just pinch an entertaining victory – thanks mainly to that man, Keane. 2-1
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Draw
West Ham vs Man Utd
Shooter : The United juggernaut is in top gear and steamrollering all opposition but I think the leaders face a real test here. Zola's Hammers are organised at the back and playing with flair, verve and swagger in attack so I'm going for a 1-1, maybe 2-2 draw.
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Away Win
Looter : United have now gone staggering 12 league games since they last conceded a goal – that being in the early November defeat at Arsenal. West Ham, meanwhile, are also in fine form having held Arsenal to a 0-0 draw in recent weeks. Had this one been at Old Trafford, I’d have fancied the Hammers to pinch a point, but the onus will be on them to attack at home and United clearly have the players to cut them down to size. 1-2 for me.
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Away Win
Plymouth Argyle vs Derby
Shooter : Plymouth picked up a handy midweek point at Preston, where Argyle keeper Larrieu continued his fine form. Derby faced arch rivals Forest on Wednesday and won't relish the long trip as Home Park as their away record is dismal (8 defeats in 14). 2-1 for me
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Away Win
Looter : Eight defeats on the road tells its own story and is one of the main reasons why, this term, the Rams are fighting a relegation battle. Plymouth have been in woeful form themselves of late, but a point picked up in the midweek clash at Preston should have lifted morale and I think they’ll pick up a first win in six games in this one. Don’t expect a classic encounter though. 1-0
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Away Win
Nottm Forest vs Q.P.R.
Shooter : Forest's revival under Davies came to a halt against classy Cardiff and they played the Rams in midweek so it's likely the visiting Rs will have fresher legs. With that in mind, plus the fact Rangers have drawn 6 and won 3 on their travels, I'm going for 1-1.
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Draw
Looter : Five wins in the last seven games proves Forest have really turned a corner since Billy Davies took charge and they’ll no doubt give play-off hopesfuls Rangers a thorough examination. The R’s have only three away wins to their credit this season, and although they will be fresher than their opponents having had their midweek game snowed off, I think Forest will edge a tight affair, which promises goals. 2-1
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Draw
