Archived tips :
Everton vs Wigan Ath
Shooter : It's back to the Prem after a long international break and the Toffees will be desperate to erase the defeat at Pompey from their memories. The hosts are strong at Goodison but Wigan are no mugs on the road and I fancy them to pinch a point from a 1-1 draw.
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : Expect a closely-fought battle between these sides, with neither particularly excelling in the goals-for department. I can see Wigan operating with just the one-man up front and with the hosts playing a similar way, I'm opting for a scoreless draw. 0-0
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Home Win
Man Utd vs Aston Villa
Shooter : The international break has proved a good thing for United, who will have had time to catch their breath after the shock defeat at Fulham. Rooney was in bristling form for England, while Villa have had two weeks to stew on their mauling at Anfield. 2-0 for me
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : Only two sides have denied United maximum points at Old Trafford this term, and given Villa's current form, you'd be hard pressed to see them becoming the third. United have also lost their last two, but Rooney is on fire and I think he'll sink Villa single-handedly. 2-0
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Home Win
Arsenal vs Man City
Shooter : Talk of Robinho being unsettled won't go away, and Bellamy is having a prickly time too so I simply can't see City improving their terrible away form at The Emirates. The Gunners, as usual, have found top gear when it matters most, so I'm going for 2-0.
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : Surprisingly, the Gunners have only won half of their games at The Emirates this season, and although City have been terrible away from home (their last away win coming in August) I think they can stun the Gunners and claim a point. 1-1
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Home Win
Bolton vs Middlesbro'
Shooter : It's starting to look very bleak for Boro, but there's no way they deserved to lose at Stoke last time out and it's now entering last-chance saloon for the Teessiders. The Trotters are hot at home, but I've got a sneaky feel Boro will win this 1-0 with a late goal.
Prediction : Away Win Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : The games are running out for Middlesbrough and Gareth Southgate will know they must take maximum points at The Reebok if they're serious about survival. I think Bolton are the kind of opponents they will relish, and that hunger to win every 50-50 ball, should help the Teessiders to a vital triumph. 1-2
Prediction : Away Win Actual Result : Home Win
Fulham vs Liverpool
Shooter : Fulham have been fine at home this season and are still basking in the glory of sinking United last time out. A certain Danny Murphy will be looking to impress here, but Liverpool are red-hot so I think they'll leave London with a hard-earned point. 1-1 or 2-2.
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Away Win
Looter : The Cottagers go into this one having stunned Manchester United in their last clash at home and will hope to match that when Liverpool roll into town. But the Reds seem determined to fight their old rivals to the death for the title, and with their top players peaking, I think Rafa Benitez will be celebrating an away-day success - but only just. 0-1
Prediction : Away Win Actual Result : Away Win
Hull City vs Portsmouth
Shooter : If ever there was a six-pointer, 'this is it' to quote Wacko Jacko. Pompey are in the better form and have their tails up, but the Tigers have had time to regroup and have got enough about them to ensure they don't lose this game. I reckon 1-1.
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Draw
Looter : Although both sides start this game outside the drop zone, you cannot underestimate just how vital a game this is. It's one that neither side will want to lose, but Pompey were unlucky not to win at Middlesbrough last time on their travels, but I expect them to go one better at The KC Stadium, where the Tigers have a woeful record. 0-2
Prediction : Away Win Actual Result : Draw
Newcastle vs Chelsea
Shooter : Well, well, well - Shearer's appointment as manager until the end of the season means this isn't the mortgage job it was...but although he'll lift the players, I still think they're in trouble for a reason and Chelsea have the quality to weather an storm before letting class earn a vital away win in their title bid. 1-3 for me
Prediction : Away Win Actual Result : Away Win
Looter : Wow, what a week for Newcastle! So Mr Shearer's in and his first game in charge is to halt the recent resurgence of Chelsea. The one thing in Newcastle's favour is that the Blues are probably no longer in the hunt for the title, and with a Champions League date just around the corner, you could forgive them for putting their focus into Europe. Add into the mix the Shearer factor, and I think the Toon can pick up a morale-boosting point. 2-2
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Away Win
West Brom vs Stoke City
Shooter : If you're looking for a result to stick your mortgage on, this is the one as the Potters are well and truly Albion's bogey team. Stoke may be winless on the road in the Prem but they have a hoodoo over the beleaguered Baggies, who needed to beat Bolton - not draw - in order to get some confidence into the players. I'm going for 0-2.
Prediction : Away Win Actual Result : Away Win
Looter : Another huge game, with another match that neither side will dare to lose. It's basically do-or-die now for the Baggies but they'll be painfully aware of their woeful record against Stoke (the Baggies have beaten Stoke just once in their last 24 league meetings). But records are there to be broken and I think Stoke might just have an off day at The Hawthorns. 2-1
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Away Win
West Ham vs Sunderland
Shooter : For some reason no-one has really noticed Sunderland's slide towards the relegation mire, and they're in big trouble as the goals have dried up for them. Sbragia was always a shonky appointment, and I think the Hammers - who looked knackered at Blackburn - will be refreshed and ready to rack up an 8th home win. 3-1.
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : This is another big game for both teams, with West Ham chasing a seventh-placed finish which will get them into Europe, while Sunderland know a defeat could plunge them deep in the relegation mire. The Black Cats will set themselves up defensively, and after they bagged a 0-0 draw at Arsenal recently, I think their game-plan can ensure a repeat. 0-0
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Home Win
Bristol City vs Preston NE
Shooter : There's only three points between these two play-off contenders as we enter the final bend of the season, and I can't see them being separated by much at Ashton Gate either. Both play the game the right way so I fancy goals in an exciting 2-2 draw.
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Draw
Looter : Preston's play-off bid has been seriously undermined by a shoddy away record, with just three wins in 20 games on the road all season. City's play-off hopes will probably end here and now if they don't sink PNE, but I think Gary Johnson's men can just about emerge victorious. 2-1
