Archived tips :

Everton vs Man City
Shooter : Lucas Neill has quit Goodison Park for some Turkish delight with Gala, and he'll be missed as the Toffees try to keep red-hot striker Carlos Tevez at bay. Mancini has enjoyed a perfect start to his City tenure and seems tactically assured too, so I'm going with the form book on this one and tipping City to win 1-3.
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : The Toffees are drawing far too many at home (five in 10 games), but would welcome a point from a tricky assignment here. City are in great form and have tightened up at the back, so expect an away success. 0-2
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Portsmouth vs Birmingham City
Shooter : These two were billed as relegation rivals at the start of the season, and while Pompey have lived up to that tag, Blues are exceeding expectations and are only 5 points off the top four! They kept their unbeaten run going with a cup win over in-form Forest, and face a home side who have lost 7 of 10 Fratton Park games so far. 0-2
Prediction : Away Win
Looter : You have to consider Birmingham serious Europa League contenders such has been their form, and they'll go to Pompey full of confidence. Pompey appear to have lost all fight, so I'll tip a narrow away win here. 0-1
Prediction : Away Win
Tottenham vs Hull City
Shooter : The Tigers have been clawed back into the relegation mire and seem set for a tough survival battle, which only gets tougher in this trip to London. Spurs' home record and goals tally is very impressive and they don't concede many either, so this should be a comfortable 3-0 win for Harry's boys.
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Draw
Looter : It's shaping up to be a monumental 2010 for Spurs and I have a sneaky feeling FA Cup glory could be there for the taking. They're also going superbly in the league and after seeing their game with Liverpool snowed off last week, they'll come out all guns blazing against hapless Hull. 3-1
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Draw
Wolves vs Wigan Ath
Shooter : Wigan will be bolstered by the arrival of defender Gary Caldwell, and boy do they need him to organise the backline. I think his capture will give the Latics players a lift, and fancy them to pinch all three points at Molineux, which is hardly a fortress under Mick McCarthy. 1-3
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Away Win
Looter : A real test of both sides' survival instincts - but neither side go into this one with any kind of form. Wigan are pretty awful on the road with seven losses in 10 games - and I think they'll come unstuck again here. 2-1
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Away Win
Aston Villa vs West Ham
Shooter : Martin O'Neill's men really must win this sort of fixture if they have any top-four ambitions, and I think they will as Zola's Hammers are short of confidence and pretty hopeless on the road (just 1 win in 10). I expect a comfortable home success as a result. 4-0
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Draw
Looter : Hammers fans will be hoping that takeover talk can mount a bid to climb the table, but there are easier tasks than Villa away. But the Villans may be the wearier having been in League Cup action in midweek, so I'll tip West Ham to earn a point. 1-1
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Draw
Blackburn vs Fulham
Shooter : Rovers could be a bit fatigued after their Carling Cup semi, but this is a massive game for Big Sam as the pressure is really starting to build on him. Blackburn's Ewood Park form is just about keeping their head above water, while Fulham seem to lost the knack of picking up away wins. I think this will be a score draw, maybe 2-2.
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : Although all the plaudits have been heaped on Roy Hodgson, you cannot disguise from the fact that their away record is pretty damn shabby. Blackburn don't really score enough goals, but I think they'll grind out a none-too-pretty win. 1-0.
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Bolton vs Arsenal
Shooter : The Gunners don't tend to enjoy trips to The Reebok, and the home fans are going to be fired up and in full voice following the appointment of Owen Coyle, which has given everyone at the club a huge lift. The Wenger boys have lost 3 on the road so far this season, and I don't think they'll be able to match Bolton's passion and commitment here. 2-1
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Away Win
Looter : The Gunners, traditionally, don't like visiting The Reebok, but it'll be a new experience entirely with Owen Coyle now in charge. He'll probably not change too much in his first game in charge, and with a vociferous home support, I think a draw is likely here. 2-2
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Away Win
Doncaster vs Watford
Shooter : Sean O'Driscoll has done such a good job at Donny he was linked to the Burnley post before Brian Laws took charge, and although the home players will be glad he's staying, I think the Hornets have got enough in their locker to come away with a hard-earned point here. 2-2
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : Just one defeat in 11 home games suggests Donny are pretty formidable at home, so I'd instantly rule out an away win here. But Rovers have also drawn as many as they've won, so I think a point apiece is the likely outcome here. 1-1.
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Home Win
Chelsea vs Sunderland
Shooter : The Black Cats have got a rotten away record, having lost 7 of 10 Prem games so far, and I can't see that stat getting any better here. The Blues may be missing their African stars, but they should still have far too much class and firepower for Bruce's battlers. 2-0
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : The Black Cats have been on some warm-weather training this week, but don't expect it to make too much difference to events at Stamford Bridge. The Blues have a near-perfect home record, and even without their African contigent, don't expect anything but a home win. 3-0
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Scunthorpe vs Cardiff
Shooter : The Bluebirds are proving to be more of a handful on the road than at home this season, so I'm backing them to continue their promotion charge with all three points here. The likes of Chopra and Whittingham should be too classy for the Iron men, so I'm going for a 0-2 away win.
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Draw
Looter : Cardiff's away record is as good as anyone's in the division, so they'll go all out attack at Glanford Park. And given that Scunny are beatable at home (four losses so far), I'll tip up an away win. 1-2
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Draw
