Archived tips :

Birmingham City vs Wigan Ath
Shooter : McLeish's Blues looked a bit leggy in the defeat at Fulham but were undone by two awesome strikes - and Wigan simply don't have the same class in their ranks. The Latics were licked by Spurs last time out, and I think they'll be beaten here again. 3-1
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : Blues have hit a bit of a sticky patch lately, but what better way to turn that around than against Wigan, who are falling like a stone. This will be nervy, but the home side should have just enough to grab all three points. 1-0
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Bolton vs Wolves
Shooter : A six-pointer in every sense of the word, this is a game Owen Coyle's Trotters simply have to win. They tumbled out of the FA Cup in midweek - but that may be a good thing. The Reebok will be rocking, and I think Wolves will be narrowly edged out, 2-1 to the hosts.
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : Bolton's cup defeat at Spurs on Wednesday not only proved their squad is not good enough, but also underlined their inability to score. They'll need to correct that quickly against Wolves, but I'm not overly confident they will so an away success looks possible. 0-1
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Burnley vs Portsmouth
Shooter : Burnley were seemingly battered at Villa Park, but the scoreline was lop-sided by a few minutes of madness - and they actually played quite well for most of the match. Pompey are lurching from one disaster to another, and I think they'll be beaten here. 2-0
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Away Win
Looter : Pompey have a more important date in the High Court just days after this match so you could forgive them if their minds are elsewhere. But the players are still showing spirit, and with the Clarets also struggling, a draw seems possible to me. 1-1
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Away Win
Stoke City vs Arsenal
Shooter : Tony Pulis is a strong contender for Manager of the Month, and got the better of Mancini's Man City in midweek to end their FA Cup hopes. The Gunners simply hate this fixture, and the Potters will play to their strengths to earn a 'shock' home win. 2-1
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Away Win
Looter : The Potters put Man City to the sword in midweek and have already claimed the Gunners' scalp in the FA Cup here. This really is a tough one to call, but the Gunners will be fresher so I think they'll sneak a crucial away win. 1-2
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Away Win
Aston Villa vs Man Utd
Shooter : The Carling Cup final will hopefully live up to its great expectations, and this should be a belter as Villa no longer fear and United and actually have more pace and power in their ranks. I'm with Looter, though, as I think it'll be a draw after 90 mins, prob 1-1.
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Away Win
Looter : The Carling Cup final promises to be an attractive affair, not to mention a battle of wits between the managers. I think United might edge the victory, but not until extra time, so I'll tip this as a 1-1 draw at the 90-minute mark.
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Away Win
Sunderland vs Fulham
Shooter : Sunderland's morale is lower than a sewage pipe at present after a torrid run of form, while Fulham are flying high with Zamora banging the goals in to attract England talk. The Cottagers may be weary after facing Shakhtar, but I still fancy them to win here. 1-2
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Draw
Looter : The Black Cats are in woeful form at present and a clash with Fulham is never easy. The Cottagers are playing with verve and fluency right now, so I'll tip them to pinch a point. 1-1
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Draw
Tottenham vs Everton
Shooter : Two in-form teams lock horns at The Lane here, with confidence sky high in both camps and goals coming easily. The Toffees are buzzing after beating United, while Spurs spanked Bolton in the FA Cup, so I think there'll be goals in a thrilling 2-2 draw.
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : Arguably the match of the weekend as two in-form sides lock horns. Everton are emerging as possible top-four challengers but they'll need a win here to underline that possibility. But for me, Tottenham have the firepower and I'll tip a home win as well as a goal feast. 3-2
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Rangers vs Celtic
Shooter : Tony Mowbray is under massive pressure heading into this vital Old Firm derby, but considering he was a hard-as-nails defender, his teams are wafer-thin at the back. I think Boyd will outshine Keane in the striker head-to-head, with Rangers winning 2-1.
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : A huge game in deciding the destination of the title. Celtic really need the win, but definitely cannot afford to lose. As per usual with these games, expect more red cards than goals. 0-0
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Home Win
Liverpool vs Blackburn
Shooter : Big Sam's Rovers are red-hot on home soil, and rank on the road, so Rafa Benitez will be confident that his Reds have enough firepower to pocket all three points, especially if the fit-again returns to the forward line at Anfield. 3-0
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : Rovers have improved a lot lately, but much of that owes to their impressive home form. Away from home they are less clever, and since Liverpool may hand a start to Fernando Torres, I cannnot look past a home win. 2-0
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Reading vs Sheff Weds
Shooter : The Royals booked an appointment with Villa in the FA Cup quarter-finals after beating the Baggies in midweek - but could be knackered as it went to extra-time. Both need points for their survival bid so it'll be a cagey affair, and I think it'll be a 1-1 draw.
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : The Royals have reached their first FA Cup quarter-final in over 70 years, but they need to start transferring that form into the league. Their home form is patchy, but Wednesday are very hit and miss so I'll back the hosts to claim a vital win. 1-0
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
