Archived tips :

Bolton vs Aston Villa
Shooter : Villa are doing their usual end-of-season burnout, and there's even been talk of O'Neill quitting over his summer budget. Bolton were battered by United last time out, but Villa are missing several key men so I'm going for a home win in this one. 3-1
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Away Win
Looter : Villa saw their 10-match unbeaten run go up in smoke last week but will hope to bounce back against Bolton, who were also trounced in their last game. I can see Villa just about edging this one, 1-2.
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Away Win
Burnley vs Man City
Shooter : The Clarets have been abysmal under Brian Laws are somehow still clinging onto survival hope as they're only three points from safety. They won't be banking three points here, though, as Tevez is on fire and City should win this one at a canter. 0-3
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Away Win
Looter : These two shared a staggering 3-3 draw at Eastlands earlier this term - a result that effectively cost Mark Hughes his job. City crushed Wigan last time out, while Burnley have lost three of their last four at home. A comfortable away win here. 0-2
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Away Win
Portsmouth vs Blackburn
Shooter : Pompey are penniless, rockbottom and all-but relegated, while Rovers are sitting pretty in 10th and are full of confidence after beating Burnley, so there's only one outcome right? Wrong. Pompey's fans are ensuring Fratton Park still rocks for 90 minutes, so I'll say 2-1.
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Draw
Looter : Rovers have really hit form as the season draws to a close, winning their last two and also holding Chelsea. Pompey are certainties for the drop and will be thinking about their FA Cup semi-final next month. A third win on the trot for Rovers, I think. 0-1
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Draw
Stoke City vs Hull City
Shooter : Hull have played pretty well under Dowie so far, having lost at Pompey and seen off Fulham on home soil, but they're road record is rotten this season. I think this, tallied with Stoke's tails being up after beating West Ham, adds up to a Potters home win, 2-1.
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : The Potters proved in their win at West Ham last week that they are not going to let their season peter out, and it should be normal service resumed when Hull visit The Brit. But the Tigers have renewed fight under Iain Dowie and I think they could pinch a point here. 1-1
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Home Win
Sunderland vs Tottenham
Shooter : Sunderland have pulled clear of the dropzone in recent games, and their pitiful display at Anfield gave the indication the players are starting to think of their summer hols. Harry's boys are spurred on by their top-four bid and I think they'll win here. 1-3
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : The Black Cats were battered at Anfield last weekend but have shown enough improvement recently to suggest that might have just been a blip. Spurs really have the bit between their teeth as far as the top four is concerned, and with a very tough run-in, know they need maximum points here. Tough to call, but I'll tip up a 1-1 draw.
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Home Win
Birmingham City vs Liverpool
Shooter : McLeish's hosts gave Arsenal the Blues with a last-gasp equaliser, but I don't think Liverpool will slip up here as they always finish seasons strongly, and have Torres fully fit and firing on all cylinders. I'm going for a 1-2 away win.
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Draw
Looter : Blues gave Arsenal a thorough examination last weekend before pocketing a late point, so the Reds know they won't have it easy at St Andrew's. But Torres is on fire right now, while the rest of their key players look like getting back to their best, so I'll tip the Reds to make their class tell. 1-2
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Draw
Everton vs West Ham
Shooter : West Ham's season is falling apart at the seams and Zola's response to two shocking back-to-back home defeats was to give his players three days off and sod off back to Sardinia himself. The Toffees are in red-hot form and should get stuck in for a big home win. 4-0
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Draw
Looter : A huge, huge game for the Hammers and not the easiest when you're going into the match against a side who are unbeaten in five and have also taken the scalps of Man United and Chelsea in recent weeks. Add to the fact that West Ham have lost six in a row and are in all kinds of trouble, I cannot look past a comfortable home win. 3-0
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Draw
Fulham vs Wigan Ath
Shooter : If you look at the table, this has to be a home banker but I've just got one of the hunches that the incredibly inconsistent Latics are going to crash the Cottage and leave with all three points. Fulham may have Europe on their minds and be punished, so I'll say 0-1.
Prediction : Away Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : The Cottagers have enjoyed another great season, but the Premier League will not be their top priority given this game is their filling in a Wolfsburg Europa League sandwich. Expect a weakened Cottagers side to be held to a draw by a Wigan team who are scrapping for survival. 0-0
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Home Win
Arsenal vs Wolves
Shooter : No disrespect to Wolves (OK maybe a little bit) but playing them after facing Barcelona is going to be staggering comedown for the Gunners. But they can't afford a slip-up after the Blues draw, so I think they'll go for the throat and beat Mick's men 3-1.
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : The massive games are coming thick and fast for Arsenal and you could argue that this game carries more importance than their midweek assignment against Barcelona. The visitors though are in their best-ever form of the Premier League era and will push the Gunners close before folding quite late. 2-1
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Cardiff vs Swansea
Shooter : This has all the ingredients of a belting encounter and the two derby rivals could meet again in the play-offs in a few weeks' time - but for now I think home advantage will give Cardiff the slight edge so I'm backing the Bluebirds to soar to a 3-1 win.
Prediction : Home Win    Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : It's the last league meeting between the two of the season, but I suspect these two will renew rivalries in the end-of-season play-offs. The return fixture saw Swansea triumph 3-2 and I think there'll be goals again. 2-2 this time.
Prediction : Draw    Actual Result : Home Win
