Archived tips :
Man Utd vs Portsmouth
Shooter : United barely got out of first gear in their midweek win over Lyon but have shown they are really up for the cup this season, putting 2 goals past Villa, 3 past Spurs and 4 past Arsenal. Harry will be hoping it's not a high five at Old Trafford - but don't rule it out! Pompey looked poor in beating Preston, and their run ends here. 3-0
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Away Win
Looter : United eased to victory when the sides recently met in the Prem and there seems little chance to Pompey doing much to alter the result in the cup. Fergie may rest Ron and Roo, but will still have too much for Pompey. 3-0
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Away Win
Barnsley vs Chelsea
Shooter : I think Barnsley had their moment of glory at Anfield and will find Chelsea just too strong in this cup battle. The Tykes have drawn blanks in their last 2 home league games, and Grant's Blues are still bristling over their Carling Cup capitulation. Class will eventually come to the fore for the visitors, 0-2.
Prediction : Away Win Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : The Tykes are gearing up for the biggest match at Oakwell since the heady days of the Premier League and will boast a packed house for this one. Chelsea will have to work hard, and may need a touch of class late on to just edge through. 0-2
Prediction : Away Win Actual Result : Home Win
Middlesbro' vs Cardiff
Shooter : It's friends reunited at The Riverside as Hasselbaink lines up against his former Boro team-mates. Cardiff's cup win gave them some relief from six league games without a win - but they've drawn two of them away from home and only lost narrowly in the others so know how to keep things tight at the back. Boro were rumbled by the Royals last time so are a bit nervy at home, I reckon a draw, 1-1.
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Away Win
Looter : The form guide suggests Boro should brush aside the Bluebirds, but I have a sneaky feeling that Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink - on his return to Teesside - could bite the hand that once fed him and help Cardiff to a score draw. 2-2
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Away Win
Bristol Rovers vs West Brom
Shooter : Mid-table Rovers claimed Southampton's scalp in the previous round - but the Baggies are a far different proposition. They're the country's leading scorers, have won their last 2 games and in Roman Bednar have a player who has scored in every round. With Wembley in sight and a 6pm Sunday TV appearance, I think Albion will turn on the style to book a semi-final spot. 1-3
Prediction : Away Win Actual Result : Away Win
Looter : The Pirates caused a shock by stunning Southampton last time out but face a different monster in Tony Mowbray's West Brom. Even with the free-scoring Bednar struggling, Albion should book a semi-final spot with ease. 1-3
Prediction : Away Win Actual Result : Away Win
Blackburn vs Fulham
Shooter : Winning away from home is always a boost to confidence - but a stoppage-time winner at St James' Park will have sent morale soaring at Ewood. At the other end of the scale are Fulham, six points adrift and stuffed by United last time out. A Rovers return of 3 points! 2-0
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Draw
Looter : Matches are running out for Fulham's survival bid and you can sense the belief starting to drain from their players. A trip to in-form Blackburn is hardly easy, but Rovers have been hit and miss at home this term and may drop two more points in their quest for a top-six finish. 1-1
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Draw
Liverpool vs Newcastle
Shooter : Keegan's free-falling Magpies are due a slice of luck after largely outplaying Blackburn but getting mugged late doors. Kev returns to Anfield with fellow former Reds favourite Michael Owen, who I think can inpsire the Toon to a hard-fought point as Rafa's boys might be a bit weary after their midweek exploits. 1-1 or 2-2
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : The Toon are still winless under Kev and will head to Anfield with hazy memories of the back-to-back 4-3 defeats in the 90s. Expect more goals this time too - but sadly for the Magpies, they could all come against the visitors - especially as their defence has looked as watertight as a sieve recently. 4-0
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Home Win
Reading vs Man City
Shooter : The Royals gave their survival bid a huge shot in the arm thanks to their win at Boro - but I think that'll be undone by a home defeat. The hosts are still in the bottom three but visiting City roll into town having beaten arch rivals United on their last league trip. Sven's men are better when they can counter-attack, so 0-2 for me.
Prediction : Away Win Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : This pundit was correct in tipping the Royals' shock away win at Teesside last week and they'll see this as the perfect chance to plunder more points against a City side, who have looked way below their best recently. But Sven will look for a repeat of their win at Old Trafford, and I expect the wily old fox to get it. 1-2
Prediction : Away Win Actual Result : Home Win
Sunderland vs Everton
Shooter : Sunderland have won their last 4 home games to keep their heads above water - but Everton are a different animal to the likes of Bolton, Birmingham and Wigan, drawing 2 and winning 6 of their last 8 Prem games. Normally I'd stick with the Toffees, but their UEFA Cup action may leave them a little leggy, so a draw for me. 1-1
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Away Win
Looter : The Black Cats look good for survival and it's all because of their solid Stadium of Light form. But Everton roll into town as the form team of the moment and could well claim another three-point haul thanks to their well-marshalled defence. 0-1
Prediction : Away Win Actual Result : Away Win
Tottenham vs West Ham
Shooter : Ramos has made it pretty clear the Prem is no longer his priority for this season at least, displayed in the battering by McLeish's Blues. His focus is on more more cup glory in the UEFA Cup, and after a tough PSV game, I think he'll rest some first-teamers against the Hammers, who shipped in 4 against Chelsea so will look to tighten up consderably at the Lane. 1-1 or 2-2
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : This isn't just any ordinary London derby, with matches between these two notoriously spicey. Spurs appear more focused on the UEFA Cup these days and with changes in their side, may have to settle for a high-scoring draw against Curbishley's boys. 2-2, or maybe 3-3
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Home Win
Wigan Ath vs Arsenal
Shooter : From the sublime to the ridiculous. Wenger's Gunners produced a staggering display at the San Siro - but must now play on the farmers field that is the JJB pitch. Latics are accustomed to the surface but there'll be no repeat of the flowing football which undid Milan, and I think Brucey will get a bonus point. 1-1
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Draw
Looter : From the San Siro to the JJB, Wigan might not quite have the same appeal as Milan, but you can bet Wenger will have his troops equally fired up for this one. On an awful pitch, I doubt this one will be pretty and don't be surprised to see Wigan pinch a controversial point. 1-1
