Tottenham vs Portsmouth
Shooter : Backing Defoe to score in this fixture would've been a mortgage job in my eyes - but the Prem bigwigs won't let him play so Pompey will be missing their main threat at the Lane. Spurs, already in the UEFA Cup, have little to play for but showed in the 4-4 draw with Chelsea that their minds aren't on the beach just yet. Pompey are a strong away team but I think they'll be beaten on this occasion. 2-1
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : Tottenham will go into this spurred on by their dogged midweek point against Chelsea, but will be in for another tough afternoon against a Pompey side who boast the third best away record in the league. Defoe has been denied an early reunion, so I reckon it'll end in a 2-2 draw.
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Home Win
Aston Villa vs Sunderland
Shooter : Villa are in a fierce fight to secure the joy of sixth but were easily picked apart by Pompey and are struggling with defensive injuries. The Black Cats have lost 12 of 15 on the road but were only narrowly edged 1-0 by Chelsea last time out and I reckon they'll leave Villa Park with a hard-earned point. 1-1 or 2-2.
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Away Win
Looter : Villa have seen their Euro bid stall in recent weeks with the lack of depth in Martin O'Neill's squad really beginning to bite. They go into this one without a clear option at right-back and that is something that Sunderland - and in particular Kieran Richardson - will be looking to expose as they finally end their long wait for an away win. 1-2
Prediction : Away Win Actual Result : Away Win
Blackburn vs Wigan Ath
Shooter : Bruce's Latics are on a decent little run of four matches unbeaten (2 wins, 2 draws) so have pulled away from danger. Rovers, meanwhile, are in the mid-table comfort zone. Mark Hughes will demand a response to the West Ham defeat, though, so I think these two will share the spoils. 1-1
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : Wigan have pulled clear of the drop zone in recent weeks, but Steve Bruce will be warning his troops that they aren't quite clear of danger yet. The short trip to Ewood looks for all purposes like a home banker, but Rovers' form on their own patch has been inconsistent with nine teams having taken a point or more away from there this season. Bruce's Latics look good value to make that 10 in a 1-1 draw.
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Home Win
Bolton vs Man City
Shooter : Bolton have dropped down the table like a bomb and have imploded at just the wrong time, exiting the UEFA Cup and losing 5 on the trot in the Prem. Megson's lack of top-flight guile has been exposed, while City are back on track after beating Spurs last time out. 0-1
Prediction : Away Win Actual Result : Draw
Looter : It's got to the stage of the season where Bolton know if they are to survive they simply HAVE to win their home games. True, they were second best at Old Trafford in midweek but played well enough in patches - especially through the impressive Danny Guthrie - to suggest they can put City to the sword here. This one may shock a few people, but I fancy a comfortable home win. 2-0
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Draw
Middlesbro' vs Derby
Shooter : Even OJ Simpson's lawyer would find it hard to build a case for a Derby win as they have gleaned one goal and one point from their last 5 Prem games. Their display of the season, against Man United last weekend, still ended in defeat. Boro arguably need one more win to start breathing easily, and I think they'll just nick it here. 1-0
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : The Rams enjoyed one of their better afternoons of the season last week in holding out for 70+ minutes against Manchester United and will travel to The Riverside with little to lose. Boro are probably more likely the nervous ones, but an early goal will help and I think they'll ease to a 3-0 win.
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Home Win
Newcastle vs Fulham
Shooter : Fulham's well-deserved win over Everton has given them a real glimmer of survival hope, and with key players Bullard and McBride back on song they've shown a real hunger to stay up. Newcastle were awful in the first half v Blues so the only way was up after the break, and I think they'll buckle under the pressure of having to win. 1-1
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : With the top four all going head to head on Sunday, this is probably where much of the focus will be on Saturday afternoon and it's likely to be a high-tension affair at St James'. It could be a case of whoever scores first will win, and I think this could finally be the game where Keegan celebrates the first win of his second tenure. 1-0
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Home Win
Reading vs Birmingham City
Shooter : Reading either win or lose at home, with seven-up in both columns and just the one draw in 15 games. Both teams are looking over their shoulders so it'll be a cagey affair, but Blues looked slick against the Toon and I fancy Messrs Forssell and McFadden to give McLeish's Blues a precious three-point haul. 1-2
Prediction : Away Win Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : Another game where the stakes are high comes at the Madejski Stadium with both sides still very much in fear for their Premier League lives. But Birmingham's away record of 10 defeats from their 15 played should give Reading hope and I expect Steve Coppell's boys to just have enough in their locker here. 2-1
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Home Win
Everton vs West Ham
Shooter : The visiting Hammers are in no man's land in the league so will be starting to think of sun, sand and sangria. Everton, meanwhile, simply have to win after their Fulham flop - and have the artillery to blitz the Irons in the shape of Arteta, Yakubu and Johnson. 2-0
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Draw
Looter : A season of mediocrity would probably disappoint most, but given where West Ham were last season, it would probably be one they'd have settled for. But as a result they don't really have a lot left to aim for as Europe looks too big a stretch for them now. Everton, however, are going hell for leather for a top-four finish and can expect to chalk up another three points in this one. 2-0
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Draw
Chelsea vs Arsenal
Shooter : And so we have the London leg of 'Grand Slam Sunday', which rarely lives up to expectations. Neither team can really afford to lose in terms of the title race, and after shipping in 4 goals at The Lane Chelsea will tighten up big style. They've not lost at the Bridge in two seasons and I don't see the Gunners ending that record. 1-1
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : Sunday's actions concludes with a clash of epic proportions at Stamford Bridge and it won't be one for the feint-hearted here. Chelsea fans are starting to question Avram Grant's tactics in the big games, and while Arsenal's form hasn't been great (with four successive Prem draws) I just can't see them losing here. No goals for me here, 0-0
Prediction : Draw Actual Result : Home Win
Man Utd vs Liverpool
Shooter : Liverpool should've re-signed Danny Murphy for the North-West leg of 'Grand Slam Sunday' as he was always their lucky charm in this fixture. Both teams are in red-hot form (Man Utd 4 wins on trot, Liv 5 wins on the spin) so this might be the tastier fixture. You rarely get an outright winner in these crunch battles and most pundits would tip a draw - but I think United will want to send a championship-winning message, so am going for a 2-1 home win.
Prediction : Home Win Actual Result : Home Win
Looter : OK folks, prepare for the big one. This match has so much riding on it, you can almost sense the occasion not quite living up to the billing. United have enjoyed by far the better results in this one over recent years, and although they might be without Rio Ferdinand, who is struggling with a back injury, I still think they'll just edge a win in a match that could see more red cards than goals. 1-0
